This has been bothering me for days.
I really can’t decide if you’re stating that as your argument, saying good neccessitates evil, or whether you’re making fun of the concept. Or maybe you’re just mentioning it. I think it’s an interesting thing to think about, but I’m terribly unclear as to what you’re saying here, and it kills me every time I check this site.

Fair enough – I am making fun of the justification for the problem of evil that says God created evil because without we wouldn’t be able to appreciate good (which is backwards – we know what evil is by comparing it to good, we don’t know what good is by comparing it to evil; only good stands on its own). Hope that clears things up!

Ah! Ok. Well the comic makes a lot more sense then. It’s a good discussion to be sure, though I’d definitely say I’d agree with you. It sparked some interesting discussion tonight, with me playing devil’s advocate and forcing a friend to explain. Good times. Anyway, thanks for the clarifcation!
